About

Reliable GP services for residential aged care facilities.

A message from our Medical Director

Whether your facility needs additional GP support, coverage for residents without a regular GP, assistance with new admissions or a long-term medical partner, Lancaster Aged Care would welcome the opportunity to discuss your requirements.

Dr Nadeem Arif
Medical Director, Lancaster Aged Care

Lancaster Aged Care was established to help facilities secure reliable GP attendance, maintain continuity of care, arrange timely reviews for unwell residents and provide medical coverage during weekends, public holidays and GP leave periods.

Built for the challenges aged care facilities face

Many residential aged care facilities have difficulty securing reliable GP attendance, maintaining resident continuity, arranging timely reviews for unwell residents and ensuring coverage when usual doctors are away.

Our organisation includes experienced FRACGP-qualified general practitioners who are committed to high-quality, resident-centred care throughout Melbourne’s western metropolitan region.

Continuity with reliable backup

Facilities should not have to choose between continuity and reliable coverage. Single-GP arrangements can support strong relationships, but they become difficult when a doctor takes leave, becomes unwell or retires. Large rotating services may provide coverage, but they can lose the long-term resident relationships that matter in aged care.

Lancaster Aged Care combines both. Residents can continue seeing their usual GP, while facilities benefit from organisational backup and cross-cover arrangements when required.

How we support facilities

Weekend, public holiday and leave coverage

As a multi-GP organisation, Lancaster can provide weekend coverage, public holiday coverage, leave coverage, cross-cover arrangements and support during periods of increased demand.

Responsive medical care

Many of our doctors live locally within Melbourne’s western metropolitan region, helping us arrange timely reviews for urgent clinical concerns and practical support for facility staff.

Support for residents, families and staff

Our doctors work collaboratively with residents, families and substitute decision-makers, nursing staff, care managers, pharmacists and allied health providers.
